The Kenya Football Federation is on the verge of appointing former Manchester United star Benni McCarthy as the new head coach of the Kenyan national team.
McCarthy is expected to replace Turkish tactician Engin Firat following his departure as head coach of the Harambee Stars’.
The 46-year-old South African trainer will take over the national team from Francis Kimanzi, Zedekiah “Zico” Otieno, and John Kamau, who took temporal charges of the team.
McCarthy’s hire represents a new beginning for Kenyan football, with many believing he can revitalize the club and lead them to greater success in African games.
The former striker, known for his abilities and leadership, will have the difficult task of building a good squad for future international games, beginning with the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar on January 3, 2025.
The Harambee Stars are in camp getting ready for the Mapinduzi Cup, which will take place in Zanzibar from January 3rd to January 13th, 2025.
