Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi has hailed the performance of coach Nasreddine Nabi, saying he has done a great job for the club.
Kaizer Chiefs are currently out of the race of the South African Premier League title but remains a contender for the Cup competition.
Despite their inconsistent performance, Kaizer Chiefs are in line to end their trophy drought in South Africa.
Kaizer Chiefs are 8th on the league standings with 30 points and are in the semifinals of the Cup competitions.
However, the former defender believes Nabi has significant improved the team’s play, and has therefore considered the campaign as a good one.
“It’s not just about the victory in the Nedbank Cup semi-final against Sundowns. You have to look at the whole season, and I think he has done very well since joining the club. To me, he has always been secure.
Winning the Nedbank Cup would be a great result, but he should be judged not on that, but on how the team plays. If you look at the chances they’ve created, it’s clear how well they are playing this season compared to the past two or three seasons.
Now, they just need to finish in the top eight. It would be a good and fair season to reach the Nedbank Cup final and also make it into the top eight. That would cap off a good season. But overall, coach Nabi has done a great job building the team,” concluded Tsotetsi.
