Former Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has welcomed Mohammed Kudus’ imminent move to Tottenham Hotspur, describing it as a proud moment for the country.
The North London side has agreed a £55 million deal with West Ham United for the Ghanaian midfielder, who is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days before signing a six-year contract.
Dr. Bawumia, a long-time supporter of Tottenham, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express his excitement over the news.
“I am excited to see our Ghanaian starboy make this move to my Spurs. All the best in your medical, Mohammed Kudus,” Dr. Bawumia wrote.

Kudus joined West Ham from Dutch giants Ajax in 2023 for £38 million and enjoyed a standout debut season, recording eight goals and nine assists in all competitions. In the Premier League, he contributed five goals and four assists in 35 appearances.
The 24-year-old’s contract with West Ham, which runs until 2028, includes a tiered release clause that became active earlier this month — £80 million for non-English clubs, £85 million for Premier League teams, and £120 million for clubs in Saudi Arabia.
As Spurs gear up for a return to UEFA Champions League football, Kudus is expected to add creativity and dynamism to their midfield, drawing from his European experience and impressive performances at Ajax.
