Former Ghana international Sam Johnson has advised PAOK defender Baba Rahman not to return to the Black Stars.

Following his withdrawal from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, Baba Rahman has yet to represent the nation.

The former Chelsea left-back has been in a blistering form since joining PAOK in the Greek top-flight last season, scoring important goals for the club.

His outstanding performance has reignite calls for the return of the former Asante Kotoko defender amid Black Stars recent dismal form.

However, Sam Johnson in an interview with Pan-Africa Football has advised Baba Rahman to end his international career.

“If I were him [Baba Rahman], I won’t come because he has suffered a lot from Ghanaians including some of us,”

“Because, it is not going well for him when he comes and we don’t see the Baba Rahman that we used to know and he has received a lot of criticisms from Ghanaians. If I were to be him, I don’t care whether I’m playing like Leonel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, I won’t come.

“But that decision is up to him but if I were to be him at this position or in his position, I won’t come. I’m done with the national team.”

Baba Rahman has made 10 appearances in the Greek Super League, scoring three goals across the period for the club.

In addition, the highly-rated defender has managed four appearances seven appearances in the Europa League, scoring two goals in the process.
