Former France defender Frank Leboeuf has launched a scathing attack on Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, stressing the Egyptian star has gone from an outstanding player to an ordinary one this season.
The 33-year-old Egyptian international has struggled for consistency this season, with his goal-scoring output dropping noticeably, fueling criticism from pundits and fans alike.
Despite these struggles, Salah played a key role in Liverpool’s 26th-round Premier League clash against Sunderland, providing the assist for the Reds’ winning goal.
“At one point, even when Salah was scoring goals, it was possible to notice some of the awkward movements he was making.” He told ESPN.
“It seems strange coming from a player like him. He lacks skill. This season, it seems we only notice those poorly executed moments. It’s baffling. He’s gone from an outstanding player to an ordinary one.”
“This really bothers me, because he doesn’t deserve this. Salah, especially during his time at Liverpool, showed all his abilities. Where is his talent? It seems to have disappeared.”
The Egyptian star has been linked with a potential move away from Liverpool at the end of the season, with several clubs from the Saudi Pro League reportedly expressing interest in signing him.
