Former Al Masry player Ahmed Gomaa appointed Mahalla Hassan manager

Mahalla Hassan, who compete in Egypt’s Third Division, have appointed former Al Masry player Ahmed Gomaa as their new head coach.

The club play in the Third Division, which is the fourth tier of Egyptian football below the Premier League, Professional League and Second Division B.

Gomaa, 38, retired from playing in 2024 after a long career with clubs in Egypt. He enjoyed the most successful period of his playing career with Al Masry.

He also represented Ghazl El Mahalla, El Raja Matrouh, El Mansoura, Ittihad El Shorta, ENPPI and Proxy, the club with whom he ended his playing career.

Gomaa had a brief spell abroad with Saudi Arabian club Ohod, and made three international appearances for Egypt.

During his time with Al Masry, Gomaa played 177 matches, scoring 54 goals and providing nine assists.

Across his career, he featured in 214 matches, scoring 61 goals and registering 10 assists.
