Former Al Ahly star Mohammed Sherif addresses rumors of Zamalek and Pyramids interest
Mohammed Sherif, the former Al Ahly player now shining at Saudi Arabia’s Al-Khaleej, responded to speculation about offers from Egyptian clubs Zamalek and Pyramids FC.
Sherif, who has been a standout performer in the Saudi Pro League, has recently been linked with a return to Egyptian football, sparking interest from both Al Ahly’s fierce rivals Zamalek and the ambitious Pyramids FC.
His impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, leading to widespread reports of a potential transfer.
Speaking on the program “Number 10,” Sherif shared his thoughts on the speculation: “I was happy to receive offers from Egypt.
Zamalek and Pyramids? Naturally, when you’ve played for Al Ahly and achieved successes, you’re bound to attract offers from everywhere.”
When pressed further about whether he had indeed received offers from Egyptian clubs, Sherif played it coy, saying, “Did offers come from Egypt? I don’t know.
I don’t talk to anyone, so you won’t get any information from me.”
Sherif also touched on the impact of social media on football in Egypt, noting how it has intensified the rivalry between fans: “The influence of social media on football in Egypt? It’s become excessive.
When Al Ahly loses, you see Zamalek fans mocking them, and vice versa.”
Reflecting on his career and the coaches he has worked with, Sherif expressed his gratitude and positive experiences: “I’ve benefited from every coach I’ve worked with.
I had no issues with Carlos Queiroz, and I liked Pitso Mosimane. I never saw anything bad from him.”
