Former Togo star Emmanuel Adebayor has shared the challenges he faced while growing up.
Adebayor, who was adjudged as the Africa Footballer of the Year in 2008 endured an illustrious career, featuring for Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspurs and others.
The 41-year-old has shared difficult beginning before attaining greater heights of his career.
“As I already mentioned, in my youth, I lived in a house that didn’t even have a roof. When it rained, it was a real problem. The opportunity to play for such English clubs is incredible. For me, it’s a huge achievement,” Adebayor told Setanta Sports.
The Togolese then admitted he is extremely happy to have had the chance to play for Arsenal and Tottenham — it was a dream come true.
Adebayor played 104 matches for Arsenal and 92 for Tottenham. He played until 2022 and then retired from professional football.
The former attacker has already called it a quit as he focuses on different adventures. He has begun his career with FC Metz before joining Monaco.
In 2006, Arsenal snapped up Adebayor before having spells with Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Manchester City in England.
After spells in England, he travelled to feature for Real Madrid before spells in Turkey and others.
