Al Merreikh, the renowned Sudanese football club that recently faced Bayern Munich in a friendly match, has appointed Otto Pfister as its new head coach. This decision comes after the dismissal of Michael Kruger following the team’s failure to advance to the second round of the African Champions League.
The club’s elimination by the Ugandan team KCCA was a significant disappointment for its leadership. In response, Otto Pfister, a seasoned coach with extensive experience in African football, has been brought in to lead the team.
Pfister is no stranger to Al Merreikh, having previously managed the club from 2006 to 2007, during which time he guided them to a championship victory. Additionally, he has coached several African national teams, including Cameroon and Ghana, leading them to the finals of the African Cup of Nations (CAN).
With Pfister’s wealth of experience and knowledge of African football, Al Merreikh aims to elevate its performance and reclaim its position as a dominant force in Sudanese and continental football.
