Frédéric Antonetti, the former coach of Stade Rennais, is reportedly demanding his departure bonus from the club, which he estimates to be around half a million euros.
This demand comes nine months after Antonetti’s departure from Stade Rennais. According to reports from Ouest France, the request is based on an article in the collective agreement for football professions, which stipulates that coaches who complete four consecutive years on a bench are entitled to a departure bonus. The bonus is calculated as one month’s salary per year and is indexed to the last four months of the final year of the contract.
However, there are concerns that this could lead to a legal battle between Antonetti and the club. The requested amount is significant, and it is understood that the club’s leadership may not be inclined to fulfill the demand.
