“He is in the group and available for selection, but we must handle his participation cautiously. He cannot play matches every three days, so after each match, we’ll need to allow him sufficient recovery time to prevent any recurrence of inflammation,” Ancelotti cautioned.
Varane’s return marks a significant step forward after enduring meniscus surgery in May 2013 and struggling with persistent inflammation in his right knee. After a prolonged absence of two months, the 20-year-old defender is poised to make his comeback in the iconic white jersey against Athletic Bilbao this Sunday.
