After three years in the lower division, Stade de Mbour has successfully secured its return to the Senegalese Ligue 1. In a crucial match against Renaissance de Yoff, Stade de Mbour claimed the only remaining spot by winning 1-0 away. The decisive goal was scored by Doudou Dia in the 45th minute of play, securing the victory for Mbour.
In Group A, Suneor de Diourbel had already secured one of the two promotion tickets without any issues. However, in Group B, Stade de Mbour, Renaissance de Yoff, and Asac Ndiambour de Louga were vying for the single remaining promotion spot. Stade de Mbour’s victory ultimately secured their return to the top tier of Senegalese football.
Asac Ndiambour faced ASC Yaakar de Rufisque, and despite winning in the 92nd minute, they will have to remain in Ligue 2 for the next season, alongside Yoff.
This 14th day of matches, played on Monday, marked the conclusion of the Senegalese Ligue 2 championship, determining the teams that will compete in Ligue 1 in the upcoming season.
