Casa Sport de Ziguinchor emerged victorious in the inaugural edition of the Champions Trophy by defeating Diambars de Saly with a score of 2-0 last Saturday at the Demba Diop Stadium in Dakar. Ismaïla Niang (43rd minute) and the club’s new signing, Gambian striker Bakary Daffeh, were the goal-scorers for the Ziguinchor team. This trophy, featuring the champions of Senegal (Diambars) against the winners of the League Cup (Casa Sport), is a new competition introduced for the current season. The match served as the opening event for the season, with the Ligue 1 championship set to commence on December 14.
