Marcel Desailly, undeterred by a previous rejection in Malaysia, is pursuing a coaching opportunity with determination. The former French national team defender is now vying for the position of coach of the Republic of Congo’s national team, the Leopards.
Desailly, renowned for his illustrious career with 116 caps for France, has thrown his hat into the ring to succeed Claude Le Roy, who vacated the coaching role last June. The interim was temporarily filled by Santos Muntubile. Alongside Desailly, several other French candidates, including Jean-Michel Cavalli and former Togo coach Didier Six, are also in contention for the position.
Desailly’s aspirations for coaching extend beyond Africa, as his name had previously surfaced in connection with coaching opportunities in Vietnam.
As Desailly continues to pursue coaching roles, his experience and credentials position him as a strong candidate for guiding the Republic of Congo’s national team forward.
