The signing of Patrice Neveu as the coach of the Congo national team is facing delays and uncertainties. Reports suggest that the President of the Republic has intervened to ensure Neveu’s stay in Mauritania, where he became the first coach to qualify the national team for an African competition.
Mauritania Football reported that the President asked the Minister of Sports to negotiate with Neveu, proposing a salary of €35,000 with a commitment bonus from the State. However, Neveu claims to be unaware of any such offer. Pierre Lechantre has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Neveu.
