Tunisian talent Khays Guimba-Babot nearing Lille switch
Tunisian winger Khays Guimba-Babot is reportedly close to joining Lille after attracting growing interest from several European clubs following a promising season with ESTAC Troyes.
Born in 2008, the Tunisia U20 international is regarded as one of the most exciting young attacking prospects of his generation, with his performances in France drawing increasing attention from clubs across the continent.
Currently developing within the Troyes youth system, Guimba-Babot has impressed observers with his pace, direct attacking style and ability in one-on-one situations.
LOSC Lille are currently leading the race to secure the teenager’s signature.
The Ligue 1 club reportedly sees the young winger as a strong fit for its long-term development strategy, which focuses heavily on recruiting and nurturing high-potential young players.
Discussions between the various parties are believed to be progressing positively, with the player now said to be close to completing a move to northern France in the coming weeks.
A transfer to Lille is also reportedly viewed favourably by Guimba-Babot himself, who is keen to continue his development within French football before potentially considering a move abroad later in his career.
Despite Lille’s current advantage in negotiations, competition for the player remains strong.
Juventus are also monitoring the young winger closely after being impressed by his technical qualities and long-term potential.
The Italian side have reportedly shown concrete interest in recent weeks, although the current direction of talks appears to favour Lille over a move to Serie A.
Guimba-Babot’s growing reputation has also extended to the international stage.
Having recently featured for Tunisia’s U20 national team, the winger continues to gain recognition within the country’s youth setup, where his attacking profile is highly appreciated.
His progress with both club and country has increased attention around his future, and several European clubs are expected to continue following his situation closely.
For now, however, Lille appear best positioned to secure the signing of one of the most highly rated young Franco-Tunisian talents currently emerging in French football.
