Egyptian attacker Mohamed Zidan has been sentenced to six months in prison by an Egyptian court. The former Borussia Dortmund player is accused of issuing “bad checks” to a real estate company. Zidan, who is 31 years old, has been without a club since the termination of his contract with Baniyas in the United Arab Emirates. He has also faced controversies, such as a visit to Alaa Mubarak, one of the sons of the deposed Egyptian president, in July, which caused public outcry. Zidan currently works as a consultant on the Al Jazeera Sports channel.
