Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed empathy for the plight of Radamel Falcao, the Monaco striker who suffered a left knee injury, ruling him out for the remainder of the season and casting doubt on his availability for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil.
The Real Madrid forward extended his sympathies to the Colombian striker from AS Monaco, acknowledging the possibility that Falcao might be one of the notable absentees from the Brazilian World Cup.
“I wish him all the best and strength to overcome this setback. I’m confident he will make a full recovery,” stated the 2013 Ballon d’Or winner following Real Madrid’s victory over Granada.
Falcao sustained the injury during the Coupe de France round of 16 match between Chasselay and Monaco, suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee. Soner Ertek, the amateur player from Chasselay responsible for the collision leading to Falcao’s injury, faces threats of violence in Colombia.
