Angola’s Kabuscorp and Petro Atletico de Luanda are set to face off in the Angolan Super Cup on February 4th. This encounter marks the beginning of the new season and features the reigning champion against the winner of the National Cup. To accommodate the anticipated crowd, the federation has made 50,000 tickets available for sale in hopes of attracting a sizable audience.
However, Kabuscorp supporters may face disappointment, particularly in not being able to witness their star acquisition, Congolese player Trésor Mputu, who joined the team last December. Mputu, formerly of TP Mazembe, opted to remain in Luanda and did not participate in the team’s preparation camp in Portugal, where they suffered four defeats in as many matches.
Meanwhile, Petro, the country’s most successful club, traveled to South Africa to finalize their preparations ahead of the upcoming season.
