The renowned former coach of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson, is set to take on the role of a UEFA coaching ambassador, as announced by Michel Platini, the president of the European football body, on Friday in Nyon. In addition to this prestigious position, Sir Alex will also serve as a member of the Champions League technical group.
During the press conference, Sir Alex Ferguson, standing alongside Platini, expressed his eagerness to contribute by stating that his role offers an opportunity “to help young coaches and those currently playing in the Champions League.” The distinguished 72-year-old Scot considers this undertaking as a great challenge, emphasizing the pleasure it brings him. Platini concluded the announcement by expressing his satisfaction at having Sir Alex on board.
