The Togolese Football Federation (FTF) has taken a strong stance against violence in stadiums, issuing temporary suspensions to Sokodé and Lavié stadiums following incidents during matches on the 23rd day of the national premier championship. This move comes after the suspension of Koroki Métété de Tchamba’s stadium earlier.
The FTF revealed the suspension in response to the disturbances that occurred at the Semassi vs AS Douanes and Kotoko vs Anges FC matches on October 6. Incidents during these matches led to material damage and injuries, prompting the football federation to take action.
Pending further sanctions from the FTF Disciplinary Commission, Sokodé and Lavié stadiums will remain suspended. The affected clubs, Semassi and Kotoko, are instructed to play their home matches at the Kégué stadium and Lomé municipal stadium, respectively.
This decision comes in the wake of firm measures taken by the ministries of security and sports to address the issue of violence in Togolese stadiums.
Simultaneously, the FTF has announced the program for the 24th day of the championship, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday and Thursday:
