“We met with the club presidents to discuss the modalities of resuming the championship. They shared their concerns with us, and together, we found solutions to address their concerns and ensure a restart under acceptable conditions,” said Gabriel Améyi, president of the FTF, in a press release.
As a result, the first division (D1) will kick off on May 3 with 12 clubs participating. The reigning champion, Anges FC, will open the season by hosting Maranatha de Fiokpo.
The second division (D2) will commence on May 11 with 24 teams divided into four groups of six. “The group winners will advance to the semifinals, which will be played on a home-and-away basis. The winners of the semifinals will then compete in the final of the second division,” added the FTF.
