The Togolese Football Federation, in collaboration with the supervisory ministry, has initiated a call for applications to fill the vacancy left by Didier Six at the helm of the Eperviers.
Currently, the general secretariat of the FTF is receiving several applications.
While candidates like François Zahoui, Jean Michel Cavalli, Franck Dumas, among others, are being considered, Noel Tosi, former coach of Mauritania and Congo, has also thrown his hat into the ring for the position with the Eperviers.
In a telephone conversation with the editorial team of Africa Top Sport on Tuesday, the French coach outlined the key aspects of the criteria sought by Togo.
“This generation deserves much more,” Tosi emphasized. “We cannot have a generation comprised of players like the Ayité brothers, Amewou, Adebayor performing exceptionally well with Tottenham, Romao, and Agassa without achieving significant success. Togo deserves more than what it has achieved in the past two years. I have experience coaching in Mauritania and Congo. I understand African football well, and I have a genuine affection for it. I have previously worked with Jonathan Ayité and Amewou Komlan.”
He continued, “I hold the highest coaching diploma in France, and I am the first French coach to have managed a club in America, specifically Sacramento. As for incentives, my priority lies in fostering strong relationships with players and sports officials. I am committed to developing local coaches and working alongside the national technical director.”
“In Mauritania, my entire family relocated with me, including my wife and children. I established a training center for players aged 17 to 19, with my wife taking charge of their nutrition. My connection with Africa runs deep.”
Tosi expressed his ambitious goals, stating, “My aim is to win the Africa Cup of Nations and qualify for the World Cup with this generation, many of whom were part of the 2006 squad in Germany.”
He concluded, “I am not overly concerned about salary. Africa is where I was born, and I am eager to return and contribute to a country on the continent.”
Togo’s sports authorities are expected to appreciate Tosi’s commitment and vision.
