After the conclusion of CAN 2013, the Togolese Football Federation (FTF) is gearing up for the resumption of national competitions. Amavi Patatou, spokesperson for the FTF executive office, revealed on Fréquence 1 radio last Saturday that the D1 and D2 championships are set to resume in April.
“D1 will resume on April 13, two weeks later it will be the turn of D2,” stated Mr. Patatou. In addition to the top two divisions, a new feature for this season is the introduction of the D3. “We also discussed the start of the third division this season,” added the president of Espoir de Tsévié, a D2 club.
While these dates are not yet official, it appears that national competitions in Togo are poised to resume shortly. A FIFA mission is expected in March in Lomé to coordinate the new collaboration framework between the FTF and FIFA.
