The Togolese Football Federation (FTF) has taken decisive action by temporarily suspending two first-division clubs from using their stadiums. This decision is in response to the violence that marred the end of their match last weekend.
One of the affected clubs is Semassi of Sokodé, which played against AS Douanes de Lomé and ended in a 1-1 draw during the 23rd day. Semassi led until the 90th minute when AS Douanes scored an equalizing goal. However, a video sent to media outlets revealed that the goal was scored with a hand. Additionally, two dogs were observed on the pitch during the incident, all happening under the watch of the referees.
The FTF’s decision to temporarily deprive clubs of their stadiums is a strong response to the controversies and violence surrounding the match, reflecting the football governing body’s commitment to maintaining fair play and order in Togolese football.
