FIFA has announced the invalidation of the election of Fouzi Lekjaa as the president of the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) following an eventful election. FIFA has instructed the FRMF to adopt statutes in line with its standard statutes before organizing new elections in the first half of 2014. Meanwhile, the outgoing executive committee, led by Ali Fassi Fihri, will oversee the FRMF until the next elections, scheduled for the first quarter of 2014. FIFA clarified that this decision would not impact Morocco’s organization of the Club World Cup scheduled from December 11 to 21, 2013. The invalidation also affects the recruitment process for a new coach for the Atlas Lions.
