The potential successors to Kamel Djabbour are emerging as Fecofoot (Congolese Football Federation) has reportedly narrowed down the choices to four European coaches. Among them are three French coaches and one Belgian. The candidates include Denis Lavagne and Pierre Lechantre, both former coaches of the Cameroon national team, Patrice Neveu (current coach of Mauritania), and Henri Depireux, a former Belgian international.
This shortlist has been compiled by a commission tasked with selecting the next coach for Congo after Djabbour’s departure. Djabbour was unable to lead the Red Devils to qualification for the 2014 World Cup. The commission evaluated around thirty applicants, with notable names like Bernard Lama, Henri Michel, Lamine Ndiaye, and Hubert Velud being ruled out of contention. The final decision on Djabbour’s successor will be eagerly awaited.
