Bamboutos de Mbouda, previously relegated to the third division in 2007 for corruption charges, is confident of returning to the first division. Club leaders, through a press release, have called upon their players to resume training on January 3, 2013, in preparation for what they believe will be their participation in the first division championship. The National Olympic and Sports Committee of Cameroon (Cnosc) recently declared Bamboutos de Mbouda a member of the elite championship, overturning previous corruption allegations and relegation decisions by the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fécafoot). Bamboutos has previously won legal battles against Fécafoot, and this recent decision further strengthens their position. The club has communicated the Cnosc’s decision to the League and Fécafoot.
