Folarin Balogun to decide AS Monaco future after 2026 World Cup
Folarin Balogun is heading into the 2026 FIFA World Cup with strong momentum after an impressive campaign with AS Monaco.
The 24-year-old USMNT forward has scored 19 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions this season, underlining his growing importance for both club and country.
With the World Cup set to be played on home soil, expectations are high for the striker to carry his club form into the international stage.
Transfer Rumours Begin to Build
Despite his strong performances, Balogun has recently been linked with a potential departure from Monaco, with reports suggesting a possible return to the Premier League.
According to French outlet L’Équipe, several clubs are monitoring the forward’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window.
Balogun Focused on Football, Not Future
Speaking at a press conference, Balogun made it clear that his immediate focus remains on football rather than transfer speculation.
“I think the most important thing for me is just to focus on the game against Strasbourg. And then, after, of course, as you said, I have the World Cup, and then we’ll see what happens after the World Cup,” he said.
He added that he has not received any concrete updates regarding his future and is prioritising finishing the season strongly with Monaco.
“I don’t have any information or any news on that now. I just try to stay focused for the rest of the season,” he added.
World Cup Looms Large
With the tournament approaching, Balogun’s form will be closely watched as he prepares to play a key role for the United States on home soil.
For now, the striker remains committed to finishing the season with AS Monaco before shifting full attention to international duty at the World Cup.
