Hansi Flick can reach 100 victories as Barcelona manager when his side face Paris St-Germain, led by former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique, at the Parc des Princes tomorrow in the Champions League.
The German has won 99 of his 128 competitive matches since taking charge in the summer of 2024. His record has helped Barcelona win two La Liga titles, two Spanish Super Cups and the Copa del Rey.
Flick has frequently said he does not focus on personal records, despite recently matching the best start in La Liga history by guiding Barcelona to nine wins from their opening nine league matches.
Luis Enrique will attempt to prevent Flick from reaching the landmark. He achieved 100 victories in only 126 matches during his time at Barcelona, making him the fastest manager in the club’s history to reach that total.
Pep Guardiola needed 139 matches to record 100 wins with Barcelona. Luis Enrique eventually ended his spell at the club with 138 victories from 181 matches, giving him a win rate of 76.2%.
Flick’s current record is a 99-win return from 128 games, an approximate success rate of 77%. Victory against Paris St-Germain would improve that figure.
Barcelona’s unbeaten starts
Barcelona have also been difficult to beat under Flick. They have lost only 19 of their first 128 matches during his tenure, alongside 10 draws, meaning they have avoided defeat in about 85% of those games.
Atletico Madrid have been the most successful side against Flick’s Barcelona in that period, winning three of their 10 meetings across all competitions. Real Madrid have beaten them once.
Barcelona have made an exceptional start to the current season, winning all 11 of their competitive matches so far and scoring 48 goals at an average of more than four per game.
They scored five against Elche, Rayo Vallecano, Valencia, Feyenoord and Real Betis. Levante and Galatasaray each conceded four, while Sevilla and Getafe were beaten after Barcelona scored three. Racing were defeated after conceding seven.
That scoring rate is better than Barcelona’s output at the start of the 2011-12 season, when they scored 190 goals in 64 competitive matches.
Flick will hope his side can maintain that momentum against Paris St-Germain and mark the occasion with a 100th victory as Barcelona manager.
