Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has expressed strong confidence in the newly appointed Harambee Stars coaching team, emphasizing their capability to take Kenyan football to the next level.
On Monday, March 3, FKF officially announced the appointment of Benni McCarthy as the national team’s head coach on a two-year contract.
McCarthy will be supported by Vasili Manousakis as Assistant Coach, Moeneeb Josephs as Goalkeepers Coach, and Pilela Maposa as Performance Analyst.
During the unveiling ceremony, Mohammed praised McCarthy and his backroom staff, highlighting their wealth of experience and the positive impact they are expected to bring to the team.
“After a rigorous selection process, we are confident that Benni McCarthy is the right person to lead our national team forward. His experience, vision, and commitment to developing Kenyan football align perfectly with our ambitions,” he said.
“Alongside him, we welcome Vasili Manousakis as Assistant Coach, Moeneeb Josephs as Goalkeepers Coach, and Pilela Maposa as Performance Analyst.
“This team brings a wealth of expertise, and we believe they will instil tactical discipline, structure, and a winning mentality as we prepare for upcoming competitions,” he added.
McCarthy and his team will take charge immediately, with their first task being to prepare Harambee Stars for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Gambia and Gabon.
