The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Executive Committee (NEC) says it has fully complied with FIFA’s request for documentation regarding the controversial removal process involving FKF President Hussein Mohammed, Acting General Secretary Dennis Gicheru, and NEC member Abdullahi Yusuf.

In a press statement dated May 2, 2026, the NEC confirmed that it had submitted all relevant documents within the stipulated deadline of May 1, following correspondence received from FIFA on April 26, 2026.

According to the statement, the submission includes comprehensive records, supporting documentation, and evidence intended to provide clarity on recent developments within the federation. The NEC emphasized that the material presented aims to ensure transparency, strengthen accountability, and demonstrate adherence to governance procedures.

“The NEC’s submission comprehensively addresses the issues raised by FIFA and is supported by relevant documentation, records, and evidence to facilitate a transparent objective review process,” the statement read in part.

The committee further stressed its continued commitment to cooperating with both FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), noting that the matter is being treated with the seriousness it deserves. It reiterated its dedication to upholding the FKF Constitution as well as global football governance regulations.

On the disputed leadership changes, the NEC clarified that its actions were “precautionary and administrative in nature,” aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the federation. It added that any ongoing or anticipated investigations must proceed independently and without external interference.

Importantly, the NEC stated that it has not made any findings of wrongdoing against the individuals at the centre of the matter—FKF President Hussein Mohammed, Acting General Secretary Dennis Gicheru, and NEC member Abdullahi Yusuf.

“The NEC has not made any findings of wrongdoing against any individual,” the statement noted.

The federation also appealed for calm among stakeholders and urged all parties to allow due process to take its course through the appropriate channels. It assured that further updates will be communicated as the review process continues.

The development comes at a sensitive time for Kenyan football governance, with stakeholders closely watching FIFA’s next steps following the submission.
