Five Premier Soccer League signings making an early impact this season

With the Premier Soccer League transfer window now closed, five new arrivals have quickly established themselves as influential figures for their clubs before the Fifa international break.

The players have stood out through their goals, creativity, consistency and all-round performances since joining their new teams during the off-season.

Nqaba Xulu – Richards Bay

Nqaba Xulu has made an immediate impression at Richards Bay after joining the Natal Rich Boyz from Milford as a free agent.

The 23-year-old striker has scored five goals in seven appearances, putting him second in the scoring charts behind AmaZulu forward Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya, who has eight goals.

Tylo Sanger – Durban City

Tylo Sanger has become a key part of the Durban City midfield since moving from Cape Town Spurs during the off-season.

The 22-year-old has played every minute of his side’s nine appearances across all competitions. His performances have also reportedly attracted interest from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sanger has already been named man of the match twice in the league.

Gamphani Lungu – Orlando Pirates

Gamphani Lungu’s move from Siwelele has quickly paid off for Orlando Pirates.

The 28-year-old has scored four goals and supplied one assist in seven appearances in the MTN8 and the league, making a notable start with the Buccaneers.

His form has earned him Orlando Pirates’ Player of the Month award, as well as a call-up to the Zambia national team for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Siyanda Ndlovu – Mamelodi Sundowns

Siyanda Ndlovu has brought creativity, pace and a goal threat to Mamelodi Sundowns since joining from Golden Arrows before the start of the season.

The 24-year-old midfielder has scored twice and provided one assist in 10 appearances across all competitions.

His performances have marked an impressive beginning to life at Masandawana.

Antonio van Wyk – Mamelodi Sundowns

Antonio van Wyk has also settled quickly at Mamelodi Sundowns following his June move from Austrian club SV Ried.

The 24-year-old has made eight appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and creating one assist.

Together with Ndlovu, he has become one of two Sundowns signings to feature among the early standouts of the Premier Soccer League season.
