Five Algeria internationals attracting attention across Europe at the start of the 2026-27 season
The autumn of 2026 has brought a fresh group of Algeria internationals into the spotlight, with impressive performances in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway drawing interest from clubs across Europe.
Here are five players whose form has stood out in the opening months of the campaign.
Fares Ghedjemis
Fares Ghedjemis has extended his contract with Frosinone after a turbulent summer in which Monaco and Besiktas were reportedly interested. The 24-year-old was even left out of the squad until the end of the transfer window.
Since returning to the team, the winger has re-established himself on the right side of Frosinone’s attack and become a regular starter in Serie A. He has registered four assists in seven appearances this season, and remains one of the players to watch ahead of the January transfer window despite his new deal.
Ibrahim Maza
Ibrahim Maza is progressing rapidly in the Bundesliga and in European competition. The 20-year-old Algeria international has started all seven of his Bundesliga matches, playing 600 minutes, and has scored twice and provided two assists.
He has also found the net in the Europa League against Lech Poznan and supplied an assist in the DFB-Pokal.
Maza’s form is reportedly being monitored in England and France by Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Manchester City and PSG. Leverkusen, who have him under contract until June 2030, are keen to keep him and want to offer him a significantly improved new agreement.
Anis Hadj Moussa
Anis Hadj Moussa has started nine of Feyenoord’s first 10 Eredivisie matches, producing six goals and one assist in 796 minutes.
The 24-year-old also scored in Feyenoord’s 3-2 Champions League victory over Como, the club’s first win in the league phase of the competition.
Hadj Moussa has renewed his contract until 2030 and is valued at 28 million euros. His future was the subject of considerable speculation during the summer, with Benfica and Newcastle among the clubs linked with him, while a move to Saudi Arabia was also discussed, according to exclusive sources.
Rafik Belghali
Rafik Belghali has made a successful move to remain in Serie A with Torino FC, where he quickly established himself as a dependable right-back.
The 24-year-old Algeria international joined from Hellas Verona on loan with an obligation to buy. He remains contracted to Verona until June 2029, but has made six Serie A appearances, including four starts, recording one goal and three assists in 348 minutes.
Valued at 8 million euros, Belghali is unlikely to return to his former club in Serie B and will seek either a permanent move to Turin or another exit.
Amin Chiakha
Amin Chiakha, who was developed by Copenhagen and represented Denmark at youth level before choosing Algeria, has completed a permanent move to Rosenborg for about 5 million euros.
The 20-year-old striker, valued at 8 million euros and contracted until December 2030, has delivered decisive goals in the Eliteserien, including a clinical finish against HamKam.
He has scored 15 goals in 23 league appearances this season and was named the league’s best young player for August for the second consecutive time. Rosenborg know it could be difficult to keep him this winter or next summer amid sustained interest from German and French clubs.
