Canadian forward of Liberian descent, Alphonso Davies, is in line to make his long-awaited return from injury on Tuesday night when Bayern Munich takes on Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League.
The forward has been sidelined since March after suffering a torn cruciate ligament while on duty with his national team.
Bayern host Sporting Lisbon on December 9 at the Allianz Arena, with kickoff scheduled for 6:45 pm on the sixth matchday of the group stage.
Preparations for the fixture are ongoing at Säbener Straße, where the team held its final training session ahead of the clash.
Checks have revealed that Davies fully participated in team training, raising strong expectations that he could be named in the matchday squad for the first time in months.
Information from SPORT1 suggests that even a brief appearance off the bench is possible as Bayern ease the 25-year-old left-back back into action.
His imminent return provides a welcome boost for the German champions as they continue their European campaign.
