Firas Ben Larbi: Khor Fakkan eye move for Tunisia and Sharjah FC playmaker

Tunisian attacking midfielder Firas Ben Larbi is being linked with a switch from Sharjah FC to UAE Pro League rivals Khor Fakkan.

The 30-year-old, who plays as a left-footed No 10 and wears the number 10 shirt at Sharjah, is valued at €3.50m, according to Transfermarkt, with his contractual situation currently unclear and raising the possibility he could become a free agent if no new deal is agreed.

Both clubs compete in the UAE Pro League and the rumoured move, listed with an unspecified probability (“?”) on Transfermarkt’s transfers page, would keep Ben Larbi in the same division but hand Khor Fakkan an experienced creative outlet between the lines.

Born on 27 May 1996 and standing at 1.71m, Ben Larbi has established himself in the Gulf as an attacking midfielder capable of operating centrally behind the striker. He represents Tunisia at international level and has previously built up a profile across Arab football before moving to Sharjah, where he has become a key figure.

In his most recent outing for Sharjah, against fellow Pro League opposition earlier this month, Ben Larbi featured as an advanced midfielder in a tight league encounter, helping his side control phases of possession in a low-scoring draw. While he did not get on the scoresheet, his combination play and set-piece delivery again underlined why he remains a sought-after creative option in the division.

With no publicly listed contract end date at Sharjah FC and a solid market valuation, a free-transfer scenario later down the line cannot be ruled out should talks over his future stall.

If a move to Khor Fakkan does materialise, it would mark the next chapter in Ben Larbi’s UAE career and could yet shape the way the Tunisian playmaker is viewed in the region as he enters the peak years of his career.
