Italian Serie A side Fiorentina has reached an agreement to sign Ghana international Tariq Lamptey from Brighton & Hove Albion in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The deal is reportedly worth up to £6 million, including add-ons, with Lamptey expected to travel to Italy this weekend to finalize the move.
Lamptey is anticipated to serve as a backup to Brazilian defender Dodo as Fiorentina kicks off their new season.
The 22-year-old’s 2024-25 campaign at Brighton was disrupted by recurring injuries, limiting him to just 15 appearances. Despite these setbacks, he contributed two goals and several assists.
The Ghanaian was not included in Brighton’s squads for their opening three matches of the season against Fulham, Everton, and Oxford United.
Since his move from Chelsea in 2020, Lamptey has made 104 appearances for the Seagulls, scoring three goals and earning a reputation as a versatile option on the right flank.
In national team news, Lamptey has also been named in Ghana’s squad for Matchdays 7 and 8 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with fixtures against Chad and Mali scheduled for next month.
