Struggling with injuries throughout last season, El Hamdaoui has seen his role diminish significantly. This trend was underscored when he was excluded from the squad that travelled to the club’s pre-season training camp in Latin America.
Instead, the 29-year-old was asked to remain in Florence to train separately with players deemed surplus to requirements, signalling that Fiorentina are preparing for his departure.
With the summer transfer window still open, El Hamdaoui’s exit from the Serie A side seems likely, as both player and club look to find a solution that allows him to revive his career elsewhere.
