FIGURE OF THE DAY: CLAUDE LEROY’S 31ST MATCH AT THE CAN

Claude Leroy, often referred to as the “white wizard,” is a French football coach with extensive experience in African football. He made his entry into African football in 1985 when he took charge of the national team of Cameroon. One of the highlights of his coaching career was winning the 1998 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) with the Cameroonian team.

Claude Leroy is renowned for his deep understanding of African football, and he is currently participating in his seventh Africa Cup of Nations tournament. His wealth of experience has earned him the distinction of being one of the most seasoned coaches in the CAN 2013.

As of the DRC-Mali match on Monday, Leroy has been involved in 31 matches in the Africa Cup of Nations. Throughout his coaching career, he has managed various African national teams, including Cameroon, Ghana, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The DRC will rely on Leroy’s expertise to navigate through the challenges in Group B and progress in the tournament.
