Tunisia is planning to host its first Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2015. The country aims to construct a racing circuit at a cost of 600 million dinars for the event, and the proposed location is in Salloum, between the cities of Hammamet and Ennfidha. If successful, Tunisia would become the first African country to organize a Formula 1 Grand Prix. Chedly Zouiten, the president of the Tunisian national motor sports club, expressed optimism about the project, stating that they have the agreement in principle from state officials and are working toward securing the required funding.
