The FIFA Unites: Women’s Series 2025 officially kicked off in Morocco on Sunday, October 26, with a historic milestone for women’s football in Africa and beyond.
The tournament, hosted by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), brings together four nations – Tunisia, Chad, Libya, and Afghan Women United – in a round-robin competition aimed at promoting inclusion, empowerment, and growth in the women’s game.
It was a memorable day for both Chad and Tunisia, who began their campaigns in emphatic fashion.
Chad stunned debutants Afghan Women United with a commanding 6-1 victory, marking their first-ever win in an official FIFA women’s competition.
The Chadian side displayed superior pace and attacking intent throughout, making their mark on a global stage.

In the second fixture of the day, Tunisia showed their pedigree with a record-breaking 16-0 demolition of Libya, underlining their status as North Africa’s leading women’s team.
The Carthage Eaglettes were ruthless from start to finish, with multiple players getting on the scoresheet in what became one of the most lopsided results in recent women’s international football.
The tournament, which continues on Wednesday, October 29, will see Chad face Libya and Tunisia take on Afghan Women United, before concluding on Saturday, November 1.

Beyond the scorelines, this series holds deep significance – especially for Afghan Women United, who are making their international debut following years of displacement and uncertainty.
