FIFA The Best 2024: Sébastien Desabre and Chancel Mbemba reveal their votes for top honors
FIFA has unveiled the voting preferences of Sébastien Desabre, head coach of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Chancel Mbemba, the team’s captain, for The Best FIFA Awards 2024.
The prestigious ceremony, held in Doha, saw Brazilian forward Vinícius Júnior of Real Madrid take home the coveted Best Player award, while Carlo Ancelotti of Italy was named Best Coach.
As part of the voting process for The Best Awards, FIFA invites national team coaches, captains, journalists, and fans to cast their ballots in several categories, including Best Player, Best Coach, and others.
Desabre and Mbemba’s choices were among those disclosed by FIFA on their official website following the event.
Sébastien Desabre’s Selections
Sébastien Desabre, who is at the helm of the DR Congo national team, placed Vinícius Júnior at the top of his list.
The Brazilian forward’s remarkable performances for Real Madrid over the past year earned him the recognition as the world’s best player.
Following Vinícius, Desabre selected Rodri of Spain and Erling Haaland of Norway as his second and third choices, respectively.
Chancel Mbemba’s Selections
Chancel Mbemba, captain of the DR Congo team, also expressed his admiration for Vinícius Júnior, voting for the Real Madrid star as his top pick.
However, Mbemba’s second vote went to Kylian Mbappé of France, a player he clearly holds in high regard.
The third position in Mbemba’s rankings went to Spain’s Lamine Yamal, a young talent who has impressed with his performances on the international stage.
These selections reflect the global admiration for players like Vinícius Júnior and Mbappé, who have stood out as some of the most influential figures in football during the past year.
While the voting process involves numerous participants from around the world, these votes from Desabre and Mbemba provide insight into the players who have had the most impact in their eyes.
Vinícius Júnior’s Triumph
While Desabre and Mbemba’s votes were influential, it was Vinícius Júnior who ultimately claimed the 2024 Best Player award, a recognition that reflects his stellar performances for Real Madrid and his continued rise as one of football’s brightest stars.
The award also acknowledges the Brazilian’s contributions to his team’s successes and his influence in both domestic and international competitions.
As football enthusiasts around the world continue to celebrate the achievements of top players, The Best FIFA Awards 2024 once again highlighted the remarkable talents shaping the global game.
