FIFA slaps Zamalek SC with a FRESH transfer ban

FIFA has imposed a new transfer ban on Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek SC over unresolved financial disputes.

The world football governing body included Zamalek in its latest Registration Ban list, effectively preventing the club from registering any new players.

According to FIFA, the decision stems from outstanding financial obligations the Cairo-based side has yet to settle.

While the organisation did not reveal details of the three separate cases involved, it confirmed that the restriction will remain until all disputes are fully resolved.

Egyptian media reports suggest one of the cases may involve former Zamalek midfielder Mohamed Ashraf “Roka,” who is reportedly still owed money by the club.

The sanction further compounds Zamalek’s financial troubles and is expected to impact their transfer business ahead of the January window.

The five-time African champions face a demanding calendar in the coming months, including participation in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage.
