FIFA has unveiled the official logo for the U17 Women’s World Cup, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the tournament, which will be hosted by Morocco for five consecutive editions starting in 2025.
The newly released emblem, presented on Monday, reflects a bold and modern identity for the youth competition.
It was designed to represent the expansion and evolution of the tournament, which will for the first time feature 24 teams when it kicks off in Morocco next year.
At the heart of the design, the trophy is seamlessly integrated within the letter “U” of “U17”, a creative element that symbolizes the synergy between FIFA and the Kingdom of Morocco.
According to FIFA, the logo pays tribute to the ambition and resilience of young female footballers across the globe who are striving to achieve their dreams through the sport.
“This modern and dynamic logo cultivates the legacy of the U17 Women’s World Cup while foreshadowing the future of women’s football,” FIFA said in a statement. The logo, which will become a familiar sight across Morocco over the next half-decade, reflects the enduring spirit and potential of the youth tournament.
FIFA also emphasised that Morocco’s selection as host nation for the 2025 through 2029 editions of the U17 Women’s World Cup is a direct result of the country’s sustained investment in women’s football.
The governing body described Morocco’s commitment as “a model for development” and noted that the international community will now have the opportunity to witness the results of that effort on a global stage.
“This tournament is an important step in the progression of the best young players,” the statement added, underlining the significance of the U17 competition in shaping the future stars of the women’s game.
The announcement comes just days ahead of the official draw for the 2025 edition, which is set to take place on Wednesday in Rabat.
The expanded format is expected to bring greater visibility and competitiveness to the tournament, further enhancing its role in the global development of women’s football.
With Morocco preparing to welcome the world’s top youth talent, and the new logo now unveiled, excitement is building for what promises to be a transformative era for the U17 Women’s World Cup.
