FIFA removes Oleksandriya cases from Zamalek’s registration ban list

FIFA has removed two cases involving Ukrainian club Oleksandriya from the list of registration-ban disputes against Zamalek, reducing the Egyptian club’s outstanding cases to three.

The two cases related to payments owed to Oleksandriya from the transfer of Juan Bezerra to Zamalek. Their removal was confirmed on FIFA’s official website and represents the latest development in the club’s efforts to resolve the issues affecting its registration status.

Zamalek had previously announced that it had settled all of the cases connected to its African licence. FIFA’s latest update has now formally confirmed that the two Oleksandriya disputes, which were the final cases linked to that licence, have been removed.

The club had been facing registration bans as it prepared for the 2026-27 season. With the Oleksandriya matters no longer listed, only three cases remain against Zamalek at present.

One of those cases is a disciplinary sanction involving former Zamalek player Salah Mosadek. That ban cannot be lifted even if the club pays the outstanding amount, meaning it is treated differently from the financial disputes that can be resolved through settlement.

Zamalek are preparing to compete in four competitions during the 2026-27 campaign: the league, CAF Champions League, Egypt Cup and Egyptian Super Cup.

The removal of the Oleksandriya cases comes after Zamalek said it had completed the process of resolving the disputes affecting its African licence. FIFA’s confirmation provides the latest official indication that those particular matters have been closed.

The club’s registration-ban file is therefore smaller than it was previously, although three cases remain active. Zamalek will continue its preparations for the new season with the outstanding disciplinary case involving Salah Mosadek still listed among the issues facing the club.

The update was announced on Monday, 3 August 2026, with the two Oleksandriya cases having concerned the Ukrainian club’s financial entitlements from Juan Bezerra’s move to Zamalek.
