FIFA President Gianni Infantino backs Morocco for strong 2026 World Cup campaign

Gianni Infantino has expressed his support for the Morocco national football team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, praising the Atlas Lions for their historic achievements and backing them to shine once again on the global stage.

The FIFA president shared his message on his official Instagram account on Saturday, wishing Morocco success at the tournament, which will be hosted by United States, Canada and Mexico.

“Good luck to the Moroccan national team in the 2026 World Cup,” Infantino wrote.

The FIFA chief also praised Morocco’s memorable run at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where the team became the first African and Arab nation to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

“After dazzling the entire world with their historic run in Qatar (World Cup 2022), the Atlas Lions will bring the same passion and talent to North America,” he added.

Infantino further expressed confidence that Morocco can continue building on its recent success.

“I look forward to seeing your team continue this momentum and create more magic on the world stage this summer,” he stated.

The Morocco national football team has been drawn into Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside Brazil national football team, Scotland national football team and Haiti national football team.
