Kylian Mbappe has travelled with Real Madrid to Doha for the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final, but his participation remains highly unlikely due to a left thigh injury.

The 25-year-old forward, who has African heritage with an Algerian mother and a Cameroonian father, suffered the injury during Real Madrid’s Champions League match against Atalanta, forcing him to leave the game early.

Medical evaluations confirmed that Mbappe will be sidelined for approximately ten days, ruling him out of key fixtures, including the upcoming La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano.

Although he will accompany the team to Qatar for the final on December 18, coach Carlo Ancelotti emphasised that the club will not risk his health.

Ancelotti stated, “We won’t risk Mbappé’s health,” highlighting the team’s commitment to ensuring his full recovery.

Mbappe’s absence is a significant blow for Real Madrid, as he has been instrumental since joining from Paris Saint-Germain, scoring 12 goals in 22 appearances.

Fans eagerly await updates on his condition as the team prepares for this crucial match against either Al Ahly or Pachuca.
