FIFA imposes transfer ban on Wydad AC over unpaid entitlements to Tanzania star Saimon Msuva

FIFA has imposed an immediate transfer ban on Moroccan football giants Wydad AC due to their failure to meet financial obligations owed to Tanzanian international Saimon Happygod Msuva.

A letter issued by FIFA’s Head of Disciplinary on November 6, 2024, reveals that the club has not complied with a decision requiring the settlement of Msuva’s financial entitlements.

As a consequence, FIFA has enforced a worldwide registration ban, preventing Wydad from signing new players internationally until the outstanding amount is paid in full.

Additionally, FIFA has instructed the Moroccan Football Association to impose a similar restriction at the national level if it has not already done so.

This decisive action by FIFA highlights the governing body’s commitment to ensuring contractual agreements are honoured and players’ rights are safeguarded.

Non-compliance by clubs not only damages their reputation but also jeopardizes their ability to operate effectively in competitive football.

The ban serves as a critical reminder to clubs worldwide about the significance of maintaining financial accountability.

For Wydad AC, resolving this matter promptly will be vital to restoring their operational and competitive freedom.
