Morocco defender Achraf Hakimi has cautioned his PSG teammates to be cautious ahead of their game against Inter Miami.
The French side will clash with the MLS side in the Round of 16 of the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday, June 29.
“We are very happy with this well-deserved win,” Hakimi told DAZN following his team’s 2-0 victory over the American team, Seattle Sounders, on Monday evening.
“It was an important victory after the loss to Botafogo in the previous round.
“We didn’t perform well against Botafogo, but we responded strongly against Seattle and proved our ability to continue competing in the tournament,” he added.
The former Inter Milan and Real Madrid right-back also emphasised the difficulty of competing in the tournament, saying, “There are no easy matches in the Club World Cup. We must be focused from the first minute to the last. The weather here is very hot, and the pitches are dry, but we are working hard despite the long and arduous season.”
Hakimi highlighted the importance of the preparation period for the upcoming match.
“We have a week to prepare for the match against Inter Miami, which is enough time to recover and prepare physically. At this stage of the tournament, there is no room for mistakes; otherwise, we will be eliminated from the competition.”
