Ibrahim Chaibou, a Nigerien referee, is wanted by FIFA to explain suspicions of fixed matches in which he participated. This comes after FIFA banned three Guatemalan players for life, accusing them of being involved in match-fixing in international and Concacaf matches. Guillermo Ramirez and Gustavo Cabrera, two key players in the Guatemala national team, along with a third player, Yoni Flores, have been banned from all football-related activities. FIFA is currently seeking to question Ibrahim Chaibou, who officiated a friendly match between Guatemala and South Africa two weeks before the 2010 World Cup, a game that raised suspicions of match-fixing. As of now, Chaibou cannot be reached for questioning.
